For several years straight parents, students, and teachers have gathered at the historic Cheyenne Train Depot to celebrate and support the variety of public school options offered in Wyoming.
Last week the tradition was continued as more than 50 people gathered together to hear from the parents who use these public school options and some of the legislators and officials who support their choices.
Amy Nelson – PSO Wyoming Chapter President and parent to two children in virtual school

Senator Stephen Pappas
Representative Landon Brown
State Superintendent Jillian Balow – a longtime supporter of virtual school and school choice — was scheduled to attend but travel difficulties prevented her from speaking.
“Wyoming students are thriving throughout the state in the educational environments that work best for students and families,” Amy Nelson said. “We need to continue working and fighting to protect our rights here and expand them throughout the United States.”
Following the morning event, attendees took trolley rides throughout Cheyenne to experience the many historic sites.
