Historic Bell Ringing Ceremony Kicks-off Celebration Of Trusting Parents
New York City, February 3, 2015 – PublicSchoolOptions.org participated in the historic bell ringing ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange to start a week of events celebrating school choice. On Monday, January 26th, PublicSchoolOptions.org joined students from Newark Prep Charter School, K12, Inc., President of National School Choice Week Andrew Campanella, and other school choice advocates for this exciting occasion.
This week of bipartisan community support for schools of choice highlighted the success stories of many students who benefit from the opportunity to choose. As the new year is the beginning of new legislative sessions across the country, it’s important that elected officials trust parents to make the best educational decision for their children.
Beth Purcell, mother of two charter school students and President of PublicSchoolOptions.org said, “It was exciting to be a part of such a historic ceremony, joining like-minded organizations and people who support such an important issue. It is our sincerest hope that this event marks the beginning of a great year for school choice and more families being given the option to choose the best learning environment for their students.”
PublicSchoolOptions.org is a national non-profit parent advocacy organization active through its chapters and affiliated organizations in over 30 states. It boasts thousands of grassroots members representing hundreds of thousands of parents who are able to choose amongst options for their children’s education, and parents who don’t have that opportunity in their states or communities but want and need it.
