Parent Leaders Guide Coalition’s Efforts to Ensure Equal Opportunity in Education
WASHINGTON – Today, PublicSchoolOptions.org announced the addition of two national board members, bringing the number of board members to seven. The new board members, Colleen Cook of Oklahoma and Christin Kaiser of Louisiana, were elected unanimously last week by their peers and will serve a two-year term. Both board members have children who benefit from school choice options.
Members of the PublicSchoolOptions.org national board are charged with guiding the coalition’s efforts to advocate for public policies that promote the creation of and access to public school options such as charter schools, magnet schools, virtual schools, and open enrollment programs. Board members also oversee messaging and parent leader development, and serve as official representatives of PublicSchoolOptions.org at meetings and conferences across the country.
STATEMENT FROM COLLEEN COOK, PUBLICSCHOOLOPTIONS.ORG BOARD MEMBER AND OKLAHOMA PARENT LEADER:
“I am passionate about options in public education because I have seen the positive impact they have had on my kids. It’s an honor to join the Board of Directors at PublicSchoolOptions.org, a powerful organization whose sole focus is empowering parents to make decisions about our children’s education and making sure every child has a chance to succeed. I look forward to continuing to advocate for school choice in Oklahoma and across the country.”
STATEMENT FROM CHRISTIN KAISER, PUBLICSCHOOLOPTIONS.ORG BOARD MEMBER AND LOUISIANA PARENT LEADER:
“I am proud and excited to join the Board of Directors at PublicSchoolOptions.org. We have fought together to make sure Louisiana’s parents and children have options in education. I’m exited to share my experience and passion about expanding school choice with parent leaders across the country.”
