Representative Nelson’s focus on education empowered parents
OKLAHOMA CITY – Today, at the close of the 2016 legislative session, the Oklahoma chapter of PublicSchoolOptions.org made the following statement on the retirement of long-time school choice champion State Representative Jason Nelson.
STATEMENT FROM COLLEEN COOK, PUBLICSCHOOLOPTIONS.ORG OKLAHOMA PARENT LEADER:
“Representative Nelson is a true champion for Oklahoma’s students and will be sorely missed by the school choice community. Throughout his career he has looked out for the best interests of Oklahoma’s children and protected the rights of parents to choose the educational option that works best for their children. His leadership has helped to shape the next generation of Oklahoma’s workers and leaders because of his focus on ensuring every child has access to the learning environment that best fits their individual needs. We congratulate Representative Nelson on his retirement and thank him for his service to Oklahoma.”
