Local School Choice Advocacy Organization Recognizes State Legislative Champions
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Last week the South Carolina Chapter of PublicSchoolOptions.org (PSO) awarded Senator Tom Corbin with its Champion of School Choice Award for his strong support and leadership in the fight for giving South Carolina families access to more school choice options, specifically the public virtual school option. The award was presented to Senator Corbin last week at the PSO Annual Capitol Day Rally. At the rally, hundreds of virtual school parents and students descended on the capitol to celebrate the virtual school option and meet with legislators.

STATEMENT FROM SENATOR TOM CORBIN:
“I know first-hand how important it is for parents to have options when it comes to their children’s education. Every child learns differently and deserves an education that fits their individual needs. I am proud to support school choice in South Carolina because I trust parents to make educational decisions for their children. The more we empower parents with choices the more our students will succeed. I am thankful for this award and it will serve as a constant reminder to continue fighting for more options in education.”
STATEMENT FROM KERRY LEVI, PUBLICSCHOOLOPTIONS.ORG SOUTH CAROLINA CHAPTER PRESIDENT AND PARENT LEADER:
“We are thankful to Senator Corbin for his strong support of school choice and for trusting parents with their children’s education decisions. He understands that parents know their children best and that virtual schools must be included in the full menu of school choice options. South Carolinians applaud Senator Corbin’s efforts to give students every opportunity to succeed.”
