Wyoming Capitol Day was filled with many new experiences for my family. It was the first time that I shared my family’s school choice story publicly. It was also the first time my daughter, ShaiLyn, shared her school choice story publicly. With some encouragement from her amazing teacher Mrs. Khris Looney, ShaiLyn wrote an essay about why virtual school was the best fit for her. All three of us took a few minutes on this chilly February morning to voice our thanks for living in a state that trusts parents with school choice decisions, which empowers families like mine to choose the most effective school setting for our students.
