PublicSchoolOptions.org parents in Missouri have been working hard this year to ensure passage of HB 1606, a bill that increases access to virtual school and other online courses statewide. Last week the Missouri Senate passed the bill, and earlier this week the Missouri House did the same. The bill now goes to the Governor’s desk and parents are urging him to the sign the legislation.
PublicSchoolOptions.org Parents In Action:
- Parents testified in April at the Missouri House Elementary & Secondary Education Committee in support of HB 1606.
- Parents met with legislators throughout the spring to talk about the importance of expanding access to virtual school and other online courses.
- Parents, along with the Missouri Education Reform Council, issued a letter in early May to the Missouri Speaker of the House Todd Richardson urging consideration of HB 1606.
More educational options could be on the horizon for Missouri students if the Governor signs HB1606.
