Gov. Tom Wolf’s family chose to take him out of his local school district and enroll him into one of the most prestigious – and expensive – private schools in the country, with a current price tag of $61,410 for boarding students.
Despite being a very successful role model for the power of school choice – seeing as he’s a multi-millionaire – Gov. Wolf is now attempting to eliminate choice for those less fortunate and unable to afford the exorbitant cost of a private education.
This awful hypocrisy prompted one local parent to write into Penn Live to give Gov. Wolf the fitting nickname of “Gov. Wolf the Silverspoon” in honor of his privileged upbringing and hypocritical stance.
In homage to this parent’s creative mind, PA PSO introduces the newest and least lovable comic book hero, Governor Silverspoon.

Statement from Colleen Cook: “PSO supports all school choice options, from brick-and-mortar charters, to cyber charters, to traditional district schools, to private schools. We do not support those who benefited from school choice – like Gov. Silverspoon – who are doing their best to pull the ladder up behind them. We applaud the parents who are rallying at the Capitol today to save the very ladder to success that Gov. Silverspoon climbed once and is now attempting to remove. The children of Pennsylvania are crying out for choice. Will Gov. Silverspoon listen?”
