While change is not always fun, it’s always happening. Whether it’s a change of address, change of job, or change of school, it’s sure to keep you on your toes.
This fall, all three of my children start a new season of life. My daughter Cat starts 7th grade and a new year of cheerleading – something she is passionate about. My son Spencer starts 12th grade and looks toward all the changes that accompany graduation. He is attending our local brick and mortar school, taking two classes at the local community college, and one virtual school class to expedite his graduation. My son Andrew is currently working and transferring to a college closer to home. Our family is grateful for school choice and the opportunities it’s provided our kids, and I’m glad I am trusted to make these important educational decisions.
As for me, this fall marks another year of recruitment and advocacy with our Oklahoma Chapter of PublicSchoolOptions.org (check out our “Pizza in the Park” event below). In addition to running my own small business, I’ll be making new friends in the school choice arena — both across Oklahoma and nationally. I’ll be standing up for full-time virtual school families at the International Association for K-12 Online Learning conference and hosting back-to-school events across the Sooner State. Join us!
