In case I needed another reminder about how fast time flies, each fall hits me like a ton of bricks. Not only is the change of season evident, but another school year kicks off. This fall, my son J.D. started his second year of college. COLLEGE!
While I wipe away tears full of pride, I also have to convince my fast beating heart from popping out of my chest with thankfulness. Without school choice – without virtual schools – my son would not be where he is today. Virtual school was the right fit for J.D. He excelled academically in the learning environment that worked best for him.
Fall also means conference season is upon us. I’m looking forward to heading to Nashville next month for the State Policy Network conference and D.C. in November for the Foundation for Excellence in Education conference. These are great opportunities to make sure the parent perspective is heard loud and clear as school choice advocates gather together.
