Whoa! How great is this? Not only are Senator Lamar Alexander and Senator Patty Murray working together on ESEA reauthorization, but Senator Tim Scott has penned the CHOICE Act AND there is a bipartisan bill to expand access to charter schools.
A huge thank you from all of us at PublicSchoolOptions.org for saying #ITrustParents — and acknowledging there is not a one-size-fits-all model in education. Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL), Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN), Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), and Senator Michael Bennet (D-UT) all deserve a pat-on-the-back for their work on S. 316, The Expanding Opportunities Through Quality Charter Schools Act.
As the crowds of parents, students, and teachers at PSO gatherings grow from event to event this year, I’m so pleased to see that our elected officials know the importance of parental power.
We are here. We are organized. And we are asking that more public officials — in state houses, Washington, D.C., local school board offices, and municipal buildings — join in our fight for all students to have access to a quality education. S. 316 is a thoughtful, realistic bill that does just that.
